Last night, we said good-bye to our sweet MacGregor. It was sad for the whole family to put our sweet puppy down, but we know it was the right decision. MacGregor had been a diabetic for over a year, and started to age in many other ways. Over the weekend he got very sick, and we thought it would be best to take him to the vet last night.
MacGregor lived almost 12 years and filled our life with so much love and happiness. He was given to Jeff as a Christmas gift from his parents in 1999, and I met him in 2003. Jeff jokes that MacGregor knew that I was "the one" long before he did. I had such a special bond with him from the first night we met.
Most everyone knew MacGregor as such a fantastic guard dog! His favorite thing in life was to protect his family. He loved having Addy and Luke to protect. We will miss him dearly, but are so glad to know that he went to heaven as a happy puppy! Even in his last few hours, MacGregor enjoyed the things he loved most: a nice walk, cookies, and love from his family.

Oh Amy I am so sorry. MacGregor was such an awesome dog - there was truly none other like him! We loved him from the first time we met him! (How could anyone not?!). Addy and Luke were lucky kids to share their early years with him by their side and as their protector. He will be missed very much. Hope you guys are doing ok...we'll be praying for you. Please pass our love to Jeff.
So sorry for your loss. Sounds like he had an amazing loving life.
