Splish Splash

Sorry it's been awhile since our last post, we've had a pretty busy week! Addy has been taking swim lessons all week (which she loves), and we've even met a few new friends. Our friends, Steve and Desiree, came down from Northern VA to visit us this weekend. Desiree is pregnant with their first baby and we are just so happy for them! Hanging out with Addy gave them some practice :) We had beautiful weather, spent lots of time on the deck, and went to the resort pool today to relax. They have an awesome baby pool that Addy LOVES to play in-- those little red balls with water squirting out keep her very entertained. We also discovered the animal squirters which have been her new favorite toy. In the last picture, you can see Addy with her big toothy grin. She now has a WHOPPING 10 teeth! Her molars have come in, and lucky for us teething has not bothered her.

New Bike

Jeff surprised me last weekend when he bought me this bike, isn't it the coolest? Today, Jeff was in charge all day while I went on a road trip with friends to IKEA. He took Addy up to the sporting goods store and bought her a trailor for our bikes and this cute helmet! Our neighborhood has so many trails that we're excited about trying. We took Addy on the road to test out her newest toy and she loved it!

Rains Look-alike Meter

Kelly had this on her blog so I thought I would try it! Every time I am with Addy people always say she looks like me. When the both of us are with Addy, people say she looks like Jeff. Jeff and I have also been told more then a few times we look like brother and sister. I think she looks like both of us, but we do hear more of Jeff. I even tried to use pictures I thought looked like me (hehe) I guess it didn't work!

My first baby yoga class........

Was a success! I had such a great time teaching the babies. I had 5 moms and 5 babies (4 boys, 1 girl) and they loved it! They ranged from 2 weeks old to 8 months old. A few of the babies squealed and giggled almost the entire class. No crying at all (until the very end). I didn't take Addy with me because it was my first class and I didn't want her to be a distraction. She probably would have tried to touch and grab all the babies. Maybe next week I'll take her.
My neighbor, Dawn, watched Addy while I was teaching. She has 2 girls ages 8 and 6 (Kiely and Abby). Addy loves the big girls! They have a great playroom with lots of dolls and toys so Addy was in heaven. Dawn said the only problem she had was the girls fighting over who feeds Addy, who gets to hold her, etc. (too cute!) When I went to pick her up she was cuddling with Kiely watching TV.

MacGregor Photo Shoot

Jeff took these pictures of MacGregor the other day. I thought they were cool because he is posing with his chest out-- what a proud doggie!!

New patio furniture

We had a pretty lazy weekend, but enjoyed it since daddy had 4 days off! We spent the 4th setting up our patio. Addy loves the new furniture! We wished we had the opportunity to enjoy it more this weekend, but it rained all weekend (even during the fireworks!)

Happy 10 months Addison America Rains!

Today is America's birthday and Addy is also 10 months! She is growing so fast and has been keeping mommy on her toes by getting into absolutely EVERYTHING! She has been living up to her "chatty Addy" name. She talks to all of her toys and responds to people on TV. It's her own little language, although she has said some words that we recognize such as bubble, dog, and of course dada. She has always been a happy little baby, and these days are no exception. She squeals with delight and flails her arms and legs whenever she sees anyone. I was telling someone last week that Addy has no interest in walking or standing, but this week she was pulling up. Who knows, we are hoping she doesn't walk or cruise for at least a few more months (crawling is enough for us). The 4th of July should be a fun celebration for us and we'll post more pictures later!

Yoga Room Complete!!

I am so excited we finally finished this room! Jeff worked so hard painting and getting this room ready for me. I wish I had a before picture so everyone could see what a disaster it was-- the color was horrific! I will be starting my Baby Yoga classes here in August, I will probably teach regular yoga too-- but the babies will be the priority! In addition to my classes in the house, I also have a new job teaching at 2 different places. I am teaching at the neighborhood resort and spa. I actually applied to teach yoga, but they have me teaching everything (which is fine with me!) I'll be teaching yoga, pilates, spin, water aerobics, and muscle conditioning. My first class is on the 19th this month and it looks like I'll be teaching about 2-4 classes per week. I am also teaching baby yoga at the hot yoga studio right by our house once a week. I start that job next week! I am so excited for all of it!
I decided to also post pictures of Addy's room. We (or should I say Jeff), finally finished painting the dots on Addy's wall. He hand painted every square in those dots, isn't he talented??

Cheerios

I know I always talk about how much Addy LOVES to eat, but her obsession with cheerios is pretty funny. Daddy was holding Addy when he was in the pantry the other day, and she grabbed the box off the shelf. In the grocery store, she has spotted the box on the shelf, pointed at it, and screamed until I put in the cart next to her. She also digs through my diaper bag to find a plastic bag of cheerios and tries to rip it open with her teeth (like she's a little savage). Cheerios was also the reason she started crawling. When I need to clean house, cook dinner, or whatever.....I drop trails of cheerios all over the rug to keep her entertained for at least 20 minutes or so. She yells at me when they're gone. And if I accidentally leave the box on the floor, she'll go after that first. She has even managed to get herself stuck under the couch looking for cheerios. As long as she still eats her other meals, I figure no harm done!
