Austrian Alps Vacation

We recently returned from a lovely 6 days in Millstatt, Austria where we enjoyed some skiing, sledding, snow fun, and a blast with dear friends! We met up with the Johnson Family who live in Budapest and stayed at a really neat Kinderhotel. We are huge fans of Kinderhotels now. The place was designed for families and centers around children activities. We were able to drop the kids off each day at the kids club to allow us some adult time. We also had an all inclusive meal plan that gave us the flexibility of having "adult" dinners without interruptions from the little ones-- pretty awesome! At night time we would put the kids to bed and had baby monitors so we could sit by the cozy lobby fire and play cards and visit with each other. The kids had a blast playing together and really enjoyed it too. The highlights included Luke and Addy's first successful ski attempts! Addy wasn't much of a fan last year, but she had a great time this year. They had a little ski school and she went down this small hill over and over again (at least 100 times). Luke enjoyed just standing on skis and letting gravity and declines take him to where ever someone would catch him or he would fall. He had a great time too. Another highlight was a day of sledding in a very remote village that included a huge sled mountain (Addy and Luke might have been a little terrified), some of the best soup we've ever had in a cozy Austrian Chalet, and a great 5 km sledding trip down a windy road. Such a fun time! Austria is so beautiful and we look forward to several more trips during the ski season. And we look forward to seeing the Johnson's again somewhere in the world!

How cute are these tiny little skis?

Addy on the conveyer belt that took her around and around

I skied Addy between my legs on this bunny hill-- she enjoyed it!

Cindy and I were able to get a few runs in while Jeff watched the kids.

Our sledding adventure

All 4 kiddos excited for the adventure!

This was the road we sledded down. It was quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and really fun. I went with Addy and Jeff was with Luke.
