Lake Bled

Our first stop on our 10 day vacation was to Lake Bled, Slovenia. Lake Bled is a glacial lake in the Julian Alps in Northwestern Slovenia. The Lake surrounds Bled Island which has several buildings to include a very charming church. The picturesque lake also has a medieval-era castle and is surrounded by mountains and forests. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather! We spent 3 nights and three full days. Our highlights include swimming in the lake, taking a paddle boat out to the island in Bled, a little hike around Vintgar's Gorge, and the kids favorite: Toboggan sledding down the mountain! We loved Bled and would love to visit again. Maybe even experience a different season!

Vintgar's Gorge was a lovely little hike through waterfalls with a nice cool breeze. We enjoyed the nature walk and the pretty water views:
